  2. This notice sets out the nature of personal data we may collect about you when you interact with us. It also explains how we’ll store and handle that data, and keep it safe.
  3. The law sets out a number of different bases upon which an organisation may collect and process data. The main categories relate to where consent has been given, legitimate interest and cases of contractual or legal obligation. For example, we require your contact address to pursue our legitimate interests in a way which might reasonably be expected as part of running a gallery business. We do not share customer data with third parties and limit our use of customer addresses and e-mails for example to notify you of gallery events striving always to ensure that we do not otherwise materially impact your rights, freedom or interests in how we process data. We also strive to establish customer consent to such contact by the gallery at the time of making a sale or lease transaction.
  4. We collect customer data in a number of ways which are customer led such as when you request to be placed on the gallery event invitation list or purchase or lease from us. We ingather only information necessary to identify the particulars of the transaction together with customer contact information, while we may also ask how a customer heard about the gallery. Customer payment information or card payment details are not stored other than as the paper point of sale record of any purchase or lease transaction which we are obliged to retain in order to comply with legislation and evidence the transaction.
  5. We use customer addresses and e-mails to notify them of gallery events and promotions. Customers may opt out of hearing from us about such matters at any time by e-mail, phone, letter or in person at the gallery. We will always act upon such a request immediately. Access to your data is password protected and we will retain it only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which is was collected.
  6. You have the right to access the data we hold in most cases and correct data that is erroneous. As we do not share your data, the key entitlement of importance to our customers is their right to ask us not to contact them further if they withdraw consent to further contact by the gallery and we will always honour such a request.
