Rachel's work is often a balance between realism and abstraction, with a strong emphasis on colour. She uses unusual techniques to achieve this, such as fluorescent colour, raw pigment laid onto the canvas, or juxtaposing the natural colours created by pyrography with paint. She currently works primarily in watercolour and ink. Rachel also has a keen interest in figurative work, working from live models with an emphasis on strong female models.
