selected artist: Tracey Kinniburgh
Curriculum Vitae Tracey graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA Hons in Drawing and Painting in 2006. She works and lives in Scotland and is interested in both representational and abstract artwork. Her current body of work is inspired by the Scottish landscape and prominently features trees.
The paintings are acrylic on canvas and comprise of ambiguous colours with fine detailed silhouettes of trees. She does this to help portray a sense of atmosphere and to show that trees can be both elegant as well as dramatic. She is inspired by going to the countryside and studying how the trees move, the colours of the foliage and skies and how she becomes emotionally involved.
Tracey loves the peace and tranquillity that the countryside gives her and wants her paintings to evoke a sense of personal experience for the viewer and inspire them to go and enjoy the landscape for themselves.
