artist statement
I aim to transfer my appreciation of architecture from around the world into a composition that can also evoke an emotive state, linking to the city in question. my work derives from a notion of personal space within any major city, in that one tends to feel cramped (…) hence my use of filters to produce an image which is seen as small abstracted shapes up close, and the full image is only really viewed once the viewer stands back.
