selected artist: Adrian McMurchie
Curriculum Vitae "Adrian was born and educated in Glasgow and studied graphic design and illustration at Cardonald College, Glasgow. After graduating in 1990 he worked as a graphic artist for three years before becoming a fulltime artist. His two main influences are artist Ralph Steadman and architectural renderer Hughson Hawley. The majority of his work is of an architectural nature, depicting buildings and cityscapes. Through his preferred medium of watercolour and ink he expresses the dynamic contours of city buildings and reflects the vigour of urban life.
Adrian is best known for his illustrations in the Sunday Herald's Magazine restaurant section but has also been published in various newspapers such as The Big Issue, The Telegraph and The Independent."
