I find the world beyond naked observation (made visible by advances in science) fascinating, therefore exploring scientific imagery is the principal inspiration for my work.

Building up layers of varnish and imagery, I try to create depth and subtlety in my paintings. My aim is to capture and distil the essence of a series of scientific concepts into a visual language.

It has become clear to me that there is a natural relationship between art and science beyond the practicalities and particulars within each discipline. There is a spirit of enquiry driving both artist and scientist.
