Artist’s Statement
My inspiration comes from nature’s landscapes. Vast natural spaces sculpted by the elements. As I move through the landscape I feel a sense of vulnerability, freedom, exhilaration; constantly changing perspectives illuminated by movement of light. Water over rock, wind and rain on the hills - the continuous shaping of natural forms and the spaces in between, seen through fleeting atmospheric moments; an ongoing process, time built layers.
‘Landscape has been for me one of the sources of my energy ... I find that all natural forms are a source of unending interest ...The whole of nature is an endless demonstration of shape and form’ Henry Moore
‘I am far too interested in the character of the landscape and natural forms…to ever abandon painting after nature of some kind or other.’ Paul Nash
