I am an Aberdeen based artist working predominantly in painting and printmaking mediums. My work attempts to capture the essence of landscapes, cities and seascapes alike through the use of colour, texture and shape.
A passion for travelling and architecture has taken me around Europe, to cities such as Barcelona, Venice and Amsterdam, and beyond in search of inspiration. The cities themselves are often depicted without their inhabitants, leaving the viewer to experience the cityscapes as I do – a mass network of stone, wood and glass that mirrors the natural characteristics of the space it occupies.
No matter where I travel, however, I never tire of the ever changing colours of local landscape and coastline which evoke emotions which I try to capture on canvas.
