Simon Greer

Graduate of the Glasgow Art School, 1988

Simon from 1988 until 1993 has painted and exhibited nationally. Showing regularly in the RGI, RSW and the RSA. He has worked in numerous private collections in Scotland, England, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, Canada, and the USA. Working in the collections of IBM (UK), Scottish Power, Strathclyde Region, BBC Scotland, Homes International, Glasgow Art School and Strathclyde University. Since 1993 Simon has been teaching.

“On returning to painting my work has developed a fresh vibrant feel. Rich turquoise and ultramarine figures intertwine in a fairy, dark ritual dance. Chameleons and planes jostle an icon like couple, distracting them from their search. True love and dark couplings wash over, in sensual colour, a city, an unfound land. The imagery used, at first unglimpsed, gradually reveals itself, exploring a ritual dance, a never ending foreplay.”
